State-of-the-art ultrasound and X-ray services for your pets' diagnosis and care.
Our veterinarians are supported by advanced technologies like X-ray and ultrasound to look into your pet’s body. Most answers to visible symptoms are usually hidden inside your pet. Based on the results of X-ray and ultrasound tests, which we can perform in-house with digital radiology machines, we can quickly diagnose and start treatment. Call us at 902-562-5551 to know more about our radiology services or to book your pet’s next appointment.
Digital radiology is an advanced form of X-ray that instantly produces a digital copy of the X-ray on a computer. It differs from traditional X-rays as it uses less radiation and has a higher-quality image. Because it emits less radiation, it is a safe and non-invasive diagnostic tool.
Ultrasound results are better when the urinary bladder is full. You should discourage your pet from urinating 3 to 6 hours before the exam. Keep litter boxes closed and avoid taking your pet on a walk. For small animals, carry them into the office, and for large dogs on a leash, who like to ‘mark’ their territory, encourage them to move along quickly.
To diagnose your pet’s condition, we need clear images. This means pets need to remain completely still while an X-ray is taken. In some cases, we might need to administer a sedative or short-acting general anesthesia to help pets stay calm and still.
